The Providence College Irish Dance Club is here for your entertainment!
Come dance with us!

Hardshoes, softshoes, reels and jigs; steps and dresses and crazy wigs...You hear the phrase "hit step", you see high-kickin' and black-and-white Friar Pride t-shirts, and you KNOW you're witnessing the magic that is the Providence College Irish Dance Club.

The PCID was established as a club in 2008 as a way for Irish dancers at the college to come together and share their passion with the PC community. It's become one of the most successful clubs on campus, averaging around 35 actively participating members each semester. Some dancers have been dancing their entire lives, others for a few years, and still others had no Irish dancing experience at all before joining the club--but that remains a hallmark of PCID's mission: to teach others and, regardless of skill level, to have great craic doing it!

PCID produces a Semester Spectacular show in both the fall and the spring semesters. Its members have performed halftime shows at the Dunkin Donuts Center during the Providence College mens' basketball games. We dance for Gaelic Society events on-campus and for Parents' Weekend events; some members continue dancing competitively throughout their college years.

We dance in our chairs during awkward silences in class. We have perfect posture and know how to use sock glue. We're awkward salsa-shimmyers and hip-swingers but, dammit, we can kick our feet up to our heads without batting an eyelash.

We are the Providence College Irish Dance Club, and we will, we WILL, rock you.
